Paypal: historical performance, with revenues up 25%
(CercleFinance.com) - The performance is historic: never before has PayPal experienced such strong quarterly growth in its revenues or payment volumes.
The online payment specialist recorded Q3 2020 revenues of 5.46 billion dollars, up 25% y-o-y, while total payments amounted to 247 billion dollars, up 38% (or 36% excluding FX factors).
GAAP EPS rose 121% to 0.86 dollars and non-GAAP EPS was 1.07 dollar (+41%), above the consensus. With 15.2 million new accounts, PayPal now has 361 million active accounts.
For 2020, PayPal expects GAAP EPS to increase by 37% to 38%, and non-GAAP EPS to increase from 27% to 28%.
Despite these apparently good figures, the share is down over 4% in early trading on Tuesday in New York.
