Microsoft: signs five-year cloud deal with Disney
(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft and Disney said they have reached a five-year deal under which the media giant will use Microsoft's Azure cloud platform to create, produce and distribute content.
Disney said it will move many of its production and postproduction workflows to the cloud, from "scene to screen," through its StudioLAB technology hub.
This studio was designed to help develop the future of storytelling, with cutting-edge tools and methods, the company said.
The move should enable Disney to create content more quickly and efficiently, it added.
The terms of the deal, a major win for Microsoft in its battle with cloud rival Amazon, were not disclosed.
