Merck: prices 5 billion dollar senior notes offering
(CercleFinance.com) - Merck yesterday priced an offering of 5 billion dollars senior unsecured notes, as the US drugmaker raises funds to refinance its debt.
The notes include notes of 750 million dollars at 2.90% due in 2024, notes of 1.75 billion dollars at 3.40% due in 2029, notes of 1 billion dollars at 3.90% due in 2039 and notes of 1.5 billion dollars at 4% due in 2049, the drugmaker said.
Merck said it intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of commercial paper borrowings and other debt with upcoming maturities.
