Eli Lilly: opens center for diabetes in Indianapolis
(CercleFinance.com) - US drugmaker Eli Lilly said on Friday that it is opening a center of excellence in Indianapolis, aiming to strategically align its diabetes research operations.
As part of the project - which is being launched with the Indiana Bioscience Research Institute and the Indiana University School of Medicine - Lilly plans to recruit investigators to pursue research in diabetes, diabetic complications, and related metabolic disorder.
Approximately 30 million Americans and an estimated 425 million adults worldwide suffer from diabetes.
