Levi Strauss: makes strategic acquisition in South America

has entered into an agreement to acquire all operating assets related to the Levi's and Dockers brands from The Jeans Company, its distributor in Chile, Peru and Bolivia, for approximately 35 million dollars, in a deal that includes approximately 80 retail outlets.
The acquisition will accelerate growth across the Andean region and further diversify the business, while creating operational synergies, Levi's said in a statement.
