J&J: up to 400 million doses of vaccine for Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson announced on Monday that its biopharmaceutical subsidiary Janssen has reached an agreement to supply up to 220 million doses of its Covid-19 vaccine to the 55 member countries of the African Union.


Under the terms of the agreement, reached with the Vaccine Acquisition Fund for Africa (VAAF), the first deliveries of the single-dose vaccine are expected to take place in the third quarter of 2021.

In addition, the contract calls for the supply of a further 180 million doses, for a total of up to 400 million doses, to be delivered through to 2022.
