Johnson & Johnson: phase III trial in Covid-19
(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson has announced the launch of its large-scale ENSEMBLE Phase III trial for its experimental Covid-19 vaccine, JNJ-78436735, developed by its subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies.
This initiation follows positive intermediate results of its phase I/IIa clinical study, which showed that the safety and immunogenicity profile after a single vaccination supports development.
After discussions with the US FDA, ENSEMBLE will recruit up to 60,000 volunteers from three continents and study the safety and effectiveness of a single dose of vaccine, compared with placebo, in the prevention of Covid-19.
