IBM: joint offer in hybrid cloud with AT&T
(CercleFinance.com) - IBM and AT&T announced on Thursday that they will collaborate to develop a joint offer of "hybrid" cloud, a technology that enables companies to run their applications on both public and private platforms.
The companies say that this aims to ensure that clients can benefit from a unified dashboard for managing the multitude of their cloud networks and billions of "edge" devices at the network edge.
The offer is to be based on the IBM Cloud Satellite software, currently available in beta, the Red Hat OpenShift application platform and AT&T's networks.
IBM and the incumbent operator explain that the initiative should help companies to develop a 5G offer adapted to a professional clientele.
They point out that the 5G market, should reach nearly 700 billion dollars by 2026.
