IBM: string of announcements at CES in Vegas

(CercleFinance.com) - Like many other tech giants, IBM has made numerous announcements on the eve of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

During a keynote today, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty will explain how the IT company is working on technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and cloud.

At the show, IBM plans to unveil IBM Q System One, a quantum computing system for scientific and commercial use that was designed to tackle problems that are currently seen as "too complex" and “exponential.”

IBM announced plans to open its first IBM Q Quantum Computation Center for commercial clients in Poughkeepsie, New York in 2019.

The group said its inventors have received a record 9,100 patents in 2018, topping the US patent list.

In other news, IBM has signed a managed services agreement with Nordea, under which the Nordic bank will outsource its digital operations to IBM in a 540 million dollar deal.
