(CercleFinance.com) - US IT company Hewlett Packard Enterprise has agreed to buy Cray, a maker of supercomputers, in a deal worth approximately 1.
3 billion dollars.

HPE, created from the breakup of computing giant Hewlett-Packard, said Cray's supercomputing can handle massive data for simulation, AI, and analytics workloads.

Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Seattle, Cray has approximately 1,300 employees worldwide and delivered revenue of 450 million dollars in its most recent fiscal year, up 16% year-on-year.
