GE: HRSG supermodules delivered from Korea to Japan

(CercleFinance.com) - GE today announced that the Gas Power business of its GE Vernova division has successfully transported and delivered giant supermodules from South Korea to Japan for three heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) at the Goi thermal power plant east of Tokyo.

These Supermodules, each weigh around 2,500 tonnes and stand between 43 and 46 metres tall - almost as high as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris or a 15-storey building - to their final destination where each will help deliver reliable electricity to Japan, GE said.

Powered by three GE 9HA.02 gas turbines, the Goi plant (approximately 2,340 megawatts MW) will be an LNG-fired combined-cycle power plant and is scheduled to begin commercial operation in phases from 2024.
