GE: 12MW wind turbine wins full certification
(CercleFinance.com) - GE Renewable Energy today announced that its 12 MW Haliade-X prototype, the world's most powerful wind turbine currently in service, has received full certification from DNV GL, the world's largest independent certification body.
In addition, GE Renewable Energy recently announced that the prototype has been optimised and is now operating at 13 MW and last month set a new world record by generating 312 MWh of continuous electricity in one day.
GE hopes to obtain a certificate for the 13 MW Haliade-X in the first half of 2021.
The GE share has nevertheless started off trading down almost 2% on Thursday.
