Ford: initiative to improve charging solutions
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford has announced it is joining the US Joint Office of Energy and Transportation to launch the National Charging Experience Consortium, a new effort to rapidly develop solutions to improve electric vehicle (EV) charging in the US.
Ford will join a cross-industry group of carmakers, charging providers, utilities and the Department of Energy's National Laboratories to drive innovation and universal improvements around current and future public charging infrastructure and the overall customer experience.
The consortium will initially focus on payment processing, user interfaces and vehicle-to-charger communication, as well as collaborative sharing of diagnostic data to further support solutions for all stakeholders.
