Ford: U.S. sales down 4.1 percent in June
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said on Wednesday that its US auto sales fell by 4.
1% in June, as the US carmaker suffered from the declining sales of its best-selling F-Series trucks.
Total sales fell to 650,336 vehicles last month, from 678,110 a year ago; in particular with sales of the Lincoln brand falling by 6.7%.
Sales of the F-Series, Ford's real sales driver at present, fell by 1.3% last month, to 233,787 units.
However, Ford still charges 47,500 dollars per truck, 1,200 dollars higher than a year ago and 2,500 dollars above the segment average, it said.
In a statement, the group still mentioned a "very competitive market."
The Ford share is up 1.2% this morning in New York.
