Ford: April China vehicle sales down 26 percent.

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford Motor said on Friday it sold 69,503 vehicles in China in April, down 26 percent from a year earlier.

Since the beginning of the year, sales in China totalled nearly 277,000 units, a 21 percent decrease year-on-year, it said in a statement.

The Detroit automaker operates under three joint ventures in China, i.e. Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), Jiangling Motor Corporation (JCM) and Lincoln.

Faced with sluggish sales, Ford has recently announced its biggest new vehicle launch ever in China, including the all-new Ford Focus, new Ford Escort and new Ford Ranger Wildtrak.

In total, Ford plans to introduce 50 new products in China by 2025.
