Costco: buys supply chain expert Innovel
(CercleFinance.com) - In the midst of the coronavirus epidemic, Costco, the largest US warehouse club operator, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Innovel Solutions, a provider of supply chain solutions, for 1 billion dollars.
Costco, which has been an Innovel client since 2015, said the company has for decades provided US retailer Sears, as well as third parties, with "final mile" delivery and complete installation services.
Innovel employs over 1,500 people and operates 11 fulfillment centers and over 100 final-mile cross-dock centers, with over 15 million square feet of warehouse space.
