Campbell: completes acquisition of organic food maker.
(CercleFinance.com) - Campbell Soup has completed the acquisition of Pacific Foods, an Oregon-based producer of organic broth and soup, for 700 million dollars in cash, the company said on Tuesday.
Campbell said that Pacific Foods will be an "excellent strategic fit," with its strong position in the faster-growing natural and organic category, which has become a 11 billion dollars market in the US.
Pacific Foods also produces shelf-stable plant-based beverages, along with other meals and sides.
Campbell expects that Pacific Foods will contribute approximately 100 million dollars in net sales in FY 2018.
