Boeing: VietJet orders another 100 737 MAX

(CercleFinance.com) - Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet signed a Memorandum of Understanding for an additional 100 737 MAX airplanes in a deal valued at more than 12.
7 billion dollars at current list prices, Boeing said on Wednesday.

Once the deal is completed, VietJet will become the largest MAX 10 customer in Asia. In 2016, the airline finalised an order for 100 high-capacity 737 MAX 8 airplanes.

VietJet is seeking to expand its route network by offering more international destinations and expanding alliances across Asia Pacific, currently the fastest growing aviation market.

The agreement is the latest deal to be announced in a wave of contracts signed at the Farnborough air show.

Yesterday GECAS ordered 35 737-800 Boeing freighters while Vistara, the joint venture of Singapore Airlines and Tata Group in India, confirmed an agreement for up to ten 787 Dreamliners.

Additionally, Aviation Capital bought 20 737 MAX 8s.

Separately, Boeing, through its aircraft parts subsidiary Aviall, has signed agreements with Ukraine's Antonov, Canada's International WaterGuard, and Luxembourg's Cargolux.
