Boeing: invests in drone delivery startup
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing has invested in Matternet, a startup specialised in safe, on-demand unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) delivery operations in urban environments.
Its Boeing HorizonX Ventures unit has made a 16 million dollar investment in the Menlo Park, California-based company, with participation by Swiss Post, Sony Innovation Fund and Levitate Capital, the aerospace giant said.
Boeing also said on Monday that Vietnam's Bamboo Airways has committed to buy twenty 787-9 Dreamliners in a deal that would be worth 5.6 billion dollars at current list prices, when finalised.
Also note that Boeing yesterday announced a regular quarterly dividend of 1.71 dollar. The dividend is payable on 7 September, to shareholders on record as of 10 August.
