Boeing: positive decision from WTO.

The appeals body of the WTO (World Trade Organization) has cancelled its judgment of last November on the fiscal incentives taken by the State of Washington in favor of the production of the Boeing 777X, the US manufacturer said.
The appeals body has also confirmed the previously announced rejection of the EU's claims against the rest of the incentives. Today's ruling finally confirms that the tax treatment that Boeing and other companies enjoy in Washington does not represent a prohibited subsidy, which also comes as bad news for the group's rival Airbus.
In this respect, the EU had previously lodged two complaints with the WTO against the United States, described by Boeing as "retaliation for the country's success against the massive subsidies paid to Airbus by the European public authorities." There are no further possibilities of appealing against today's judgment.
