Apple: European investments exceeded E20bn in 2022
(CercleFinance.com) - Apple today announced that its committed spending with European suppliers has increased by over 50% since 2018, reaching a total of E85bn over the last five years and more than E20bn in 2022 alone.
The investments involve more than 4,000 European suppliers and drive the innovations found in every product Apple designs, from the sensors in the Apple Watch to the lasers in the iPhone to the microcontrollers in the Mac.
These investments also help advance the ecological transition of European industry, Apple said, noting that it is committed to achieving carbon neutrality throughout its supply chain by the end of the decade.
Through these investments and the iOS app economy, Apple has created more than 2.6 million jobs in Europe, it said.
