American Express: Q4 EPS exceeds estimates

Fourth-quarter consolidated total revenues net of interest expense were a record 10.5 billion dollars, up 8% y-o-y, boosted by higher cardholder spending, as well as higher loan volumes and card commissions.
For FY 2018, the payment solutions group posted EPS of 7.91 dollars. Observing "mixed signals in the political and economic environment," it expects EPS of between 7.85 dollars and 8.35 dollars revenue that is up by 8% to 10% in 2019.
