Amazon: opens first fulfillment center in Alabama

com plans to open its first Alabama fulfillment center in Bessemer, which will create 1,500 full-time jobs.
The company - which currently operates a sorting center in Mobile, Alabama - said employees at the more than 855,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fulfillment center will will pick, pack and ship small items to customers, such as books, household items and toys, working with robotics.
