Alphabet: Google plans big investments in the US
(CercleFinance.com) - Google is planning to invest over 7 billion dollars in expanding its US operations this year, a sum that is expected to create at least 10,000 new jobs.
The main subsidiary of Alphabet Group says it plans to expand its teams in its Atlanta, Washington DC, Chicago and New York offices, where thousands of new jobs are expected to be created this year.
Google also plans to invest in expanding its data centers in states such as Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia, Nevada and Texas, CEO Sundar Pichai said on a blog.
The Internet giant is also planning to expand into new territories, with plans to open an operations center in Southaven, Mississippi.
The share is down about 1% in early trading on Thursday, albeit just ahead of the market.
