AMD: shares trade higher on new PC gaming platform

(CercleFinance.com) - AMD shares are slightly up in a downbeat US stock market on Monday on optimism about the new PC gaming platform the chipmaker unveiled over the weekend.


AMD announced on Sunday the availability of its new PC gaming platform based on the Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards and third generation Ryzen desktop processors.

The Santa Clara-based company also unveiled the Ryzen 3000 Series processors, with Radeon Graphics (APUs).

The new graphics cards—which deliver "superior visual fidelity" and advanced features for gamers and content creators—are available for prices between 349 dollars and 399 dollars, the group said.

Its shares are currently trading 0.5% higher, compared to a 1% drop in the Nasdaq index.
