Tele2: to pay special dividend after Kazakhstan exit

1 billion Swedish kronor (about 400 million euros) in extraordinary dividends, using the proceeds from the sale of its stake in a joint venture in Kazakhstan.
The Swedish telecom operator has closed the sale of its equity share in its joint venture in Kazakhstan to Kazakhtelecom, generating net proceeds of 169 million dollars (approximately 1.6 billion Swedish kronor).
The company also received the full repayment of a shareholder loan of 2.1 billion Swedish kronor.
Following the closing of the sale, Tele2 intends to convene an extraordinary general meeting on 22 August, at which shareholders will vote on a proposed extraordinary dividend of six Swedish kronor per share (4.1 billion Swedish kronor in all).
