Telia: seals Turkcell deal
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday, Swedish telecom group Telia confirmed the sale of its 47.
1% stake in Turkcell Holding, the company that has 51% of the capital of the Turkish mobile operator Turkcell, to the Turkish sovereign wealth fund.
The operation will enable it to turn the page on the Turkish chapter which had been the source of a number of shareholder disputes, enabling it to focus on its new core business, the Nordic and Baltic markets.
Since the sale of its 14% direct stake in Turkcell in 2014, Telia was no longer a direct shareholder of the operator.
