Telia: confirms talks with Turkcell
(CercleFinance.com) - The Swedish telecom operator Telia has confirmed that it is in talks with the Turkish sovereign wealth fund for the sale of its indirect stake in the Turkish mobile operator Turkcell, at up to 530 million dollars.
Racting to press reports, the Scandinavian group, says that the negotiations have reached an "advanced" stage, but that no agreement has yet been reached.
In its statement, Telia says that it owns 47.1% of Turkcell Holding, a holding company which in turn controls 51% of Turkcell.
A 11h10, le titre cédait 0,6% alors que l'indice STOXX Europe 600 des télécommunications limitait son repli à 0,1%.
At lunchtime, the Telia share was down 0.6%, pretty much in line with the STOXX Europe 600 telecommunications index.
