Telia: Turkcell dividend wins top shareholders support
(CercleFinance.com) - Turkcell has won support from its key shareholders for its dividend distribution plan of 1 billion Turkish lira (about 170 million euros), Telia said on Wednesday.
The Swedish telecoms operator and the other shareholders in Turkcell Holding have agreed to vote in favour of the proposal submitted by Turkcell's board ahead of the group's AGM on 12 September.
The proposal is hence expected to be approved, as Turkcell Holding owns 51% of Turkcell's capital.
Telia is Turkcell's largest shareholder, with a 24% indirect shareholding.
Its expected share of the dividend will then be 243 million Turkish lira (around 38 million euros).
