Ericsson: smart China factory starts operations
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson said on Tuesday that it has started operations at its new automated smart factory in China, which produces 5G and 4G radio technology products.
The Swedish telecom network gear maker has spent 18 months to upgrade every step of its production processes in Nanjing, deploying analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools at 45 work stations.
The factory has been designed to support Chinese communication service providers in their network capacity, roll-out 5G, and Industry 4.0 projects, the group said.
Ericsson said it has modernized its testing equipment ahead of rapid deployments of 5G in China, meaning that products can now be sent to market faster.
