Telenor: new leaders for Norway and Sweden

(CercleFinance.com) - As Berit Svendsen is stepping down from her position as CEO of Telenor Norway and head of the Scandinavia cluster, the mobile phone operator has appointed Petter Furberg as the new CEO for Norway.

After Svendsen - who has been Telenor Norway's CEO for seven years - decided to decline the offers of new roles presented to her, Telenor and the executive have come to an agreement meaning she will step down from her position, Telenor said.

In the meantime, Kaaren Hilsen - who was until 2017 CFO in Telenor Sweden and has worked for Telenor's operations in Montenegro and Thailand - is returning to Telenor Sweden as the new CEO.

In a rotation of roles, Morten Karlsen Sorby has accepted the role as acting cluster head for Scandinavia and chairman of the board for the three Scandinavian business units for a period of one year.

He is currently vice-president of Telenor and chief transformation officer.
