Adyen: to facilitate payments for Alibaba
(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch fintech firm Adyen announced on Wednesday a collaboration deal with Alipay, the payment affiliate of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
The partnership means that Adyen will facilitate payments outside of mainland china for the merchant sites AliExpress, Taobao, Tmall and Alibaba.com, all of which belong to Alibaba.
The deal comes as Alibaba seeks to enter new markets and acquire new customers.
Adyen shares were up just 0.1% on Euronext Amsterdam after this contract.
