Ahold Delhaize: names chief digital officer in online push
(CercleFinance.com) - Ahold Delhaize said that it has named McDonald's Farhan Siddiqi chief digital officer as the Dutch-based retailer seeks to expand its online business.
The supermarket group has today announced the appointment of Farhan Siddiqi as chief digital officer and member of the executive committee, effective as of 28 January.
In his role, Farhan will drive digital transformation and innovation across the group's brands, focusing on loyalty, data analytics and personalization.
At McDonald's - where he most recently served as chief digital officer - the executive set up mobile commerce in 20,000 restaurants, launched a new mobile app and upgraded self-service ordering kiosk.
Ahold Delhaize aims to double net consumer online sales to around 7 billion euros by 2021.
