Ahold Delhaize: starts 1 billion euro share buyback program
(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch-based food retailer Ahold Delhaize said on Wednesday that it is starting a one billion euro share buyback program.
The program - first announced in November 2018 - is expected to be completed by the end of 2019, the group said in a statement.
It aims to return excess liquidity to shareholders and reduce the group's capital by cancelling all or part of the shares acquired through the program, the company said.
