(CercleFinance.com) - Ahold Delhaize has bought back 1.
6 million of its own shares over the past week, spending 27.3 million euros, the Dutch-based supermarket operator said on Tuesday.
The shares repurchases - made at an average price of 17.05 euros per share - are part of the 1 billion euros share buyback program that the retail group announced in December 2016.
To date, under this program 27.5 million common shares have been bought back for a total of 538 million euros.
