(CercleFinance.com) - Altice Europe on Thursday said that its MEO unit had sold its 25% stake in Portuguese tower company OMTEL to Spain's Cellnex for up to 200 million euros in cash.
Through this transaction, Altice is starting a long-term partnership with Cellnex in Portugal, which includes both hosting services over mobile passive infrastructure as well as the construction of new sites.
The deal is part of a larger transaction under which Cellnex is acquiring 100% of the share capital of OMTEL, which is the first independent tower company in Portugal with around 3,000 tower sites.
