Altice: American Tower and KKR interested in telecom masts
(CercleFinance.com) - According to Bloomberg, Altice NV has not finished selling assets to reduce its debt: the European division of Patrick Drahi's telecom group has received several enquiries about its "telecom masts," depending on its value, which could be around three billion euros.
The news agency reports that a US telecom tower operator, American Tower Corp., is interested, as is the private equity fund KKR. This is not all because the French operator TDF would also be interested in all or part of some of its activities in France, Portugal and the Dominican Republic. Other private equity groups, whose identity has not been specified, would also be interested.
Bloomberg reports that, from a practical point of view, Altice NV would consider isolating the assets in question in an ad hoc company, and would then float the company's capital.
