Constellium: symbolic milestone reached as Ford provider.
(CercleFinance.com) - Constellium has delivered its 10 millionth part to Ford as a provider of aluminum structural components for the US carmaker's F-150 and Super Duty trucks, the Dutch company said on Thursday.
Starting in autumn 2017, the aluminium producer will also supply the all-new Ford Expedition from its plant in Van Buren, Michigan, Constellium said.
Aluminum is increasingly adopted by car makers to aid in lightweighting vehicles to improve fuel savings and lower emissions.
