Aegon: completes share buyback program
(CercleFinance.com) - Aegon announced on Friday evening that it had completed its E200m share buyback program, designed to return surplus capital to its shareholders.
Under the program, which began in February, the Dutch insurer says it has bought back almost 47 million of its own shares at an average unit price of around E4.3.
Aegon plans to propose cancelling the shares bought back at its next general meeting.
