Airbus: wins study contract for ESA TRUTHS mission
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that that it has won the European Space Agency's TRUTHS mission study for climatological data sets and calibrate observations from other satellites.
The TRUTHS satellite mission will collect measurements of solar radiation and sunlight reflected from the Earth's surface, which will then be used to improve climatological data sets and calibrate observations from other satellites.
This spacial climate observation and calibration system will make it easier to compare data from other satellites, providing higher standards of data harmonisation for even more accurate predictions of climate change, Airbus said.
The study will define the implementation concept for the TRUTHS mission system and will focus on preparing critical technologies ahead of the mission's start in 2023.
