Airbus: increase in US production falls on deaf ears

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday morning the Airbus share hasn't really reacted to the group's announcement of developments in its production in the United States.
However, the share is just up around 0.3% in early trading on Friday.

The group will increase the production rate of A320 family planes at in the US as part of its production plan of 63 A320 family planes per month in 2021. It will make seven planes per month in Mobile, Alabama by the start of next year.

This increase and continued recruitment for the A220 manufacturing team will create 275 additional jobs at the Alabama site over the next year.

The company will also invest an additional 40 million dollars in the construction of an additional support hangar at the site, bringing its total investment to over 1 billion in the Gulf Coast city.

With plans already in place for the production of four A220 aircraft per month at Mobile by the middle of the decade, Airbus is well on track to producing over 130 aircraft at Mobile each year for its airline clients.
