Airbus: starts demo tour of the A220
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announces the start of a long demonstration tour in the Pacific region to present the A220, the newest member of its family.
The A220-300 plane will be used during the tour. It will go to nine destinations and will visit seven countries. Three stopovers are planned in Asia on the return flight to Europe.
"The A220 is the only new design aircraft in the 100-150 seat market and incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, the latest aerodynamic design and new generation engines," Airbus said.
"Together, these advances generate fuel savings of at least 20 per cent compared with older generation aircraft of a similar size," it added.
The A220 also offers an additional range of up to 6,300 km (3,400 nm).
