Airbus: maiden A319neo flight with P&W GTF engine
(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday an Airbus A319neo completed its maiden flight with the new Pratt & Whitney GTF engine.
The A319neo took off from Toulouse at 12:30 and landed at 3:20 p.m. It was flown by a crew of five people.
The aircraft will carry out a large campaign of flight tests to obtain its certification with the P&W GTF engines by the fourth quarter of 2019.
It was originally equipped with CFM LEAP-1A engines and received FAA/EASA certification in December 2018.
The A319neo is the smallest A320neo family member. This family of single-aisle aircraft is the most sold in the world, with over 6,500 orders from about a hundred clients since its launch in 2010.
