Airbus: A220 wins ETOPS 180 Minutes approval
(CercleFinance.com) - The new member of Airbus' A220 civilian aircraft family has received approval from ETOPS for extended operations (180 minutes) from the Canadian Civil Aviation Authority, Transports Canada.
This certification will enable A220 users to open new, unrestricted, direct lines over the oceans or in poorly serviced or remote areas.
“This A220 ETOPS milestone adds to the numerous performance capabilities which the unbeatable A220 Family already offers,” said Florent Massou, Head of Airbus' A220 Program.
"With an order book of over 537 aircraft to date, the A220 has all the credentials to win the lion's share of the 100- to 150-seat aircraft market," the group said.
