Airbus: Christian Scherer appointed chief commercial officer

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced the appointment of Christian Scherer as its new chief commercial officer, replacing Eric Schulz, who has decided to leave the company for personal reasons.


Christian Scherer will take office immediately. He will report to Tom Enders, Airbus' Chairman and CEO.

Tom Enders, said that during his different assignments with the company, he has really appreciated Mr Scherer's international mindset, strategic vision and tremendous commercial expertise.

Christian Scherer, who has been Chairman and CEO of ATR since October 2016, has held numerous executive positions within the group. He began his career at Airbus in 1984, in charge of contracts, leasing markets and was deputy sales director, as well as head of strategy and future programs.

He was also in charge of marketing and sales at Airbus Defense and Space.
