Airbus: first A380 ordered by ANA leaves assembly line

(CercleFinance.com) - The first A380 ordered by All Nippon Airways (ANA) has left the final assembly line (FAL) in Toulouse.

Several ground tests will now be carried out in preparation for the plane's maiden voyage in the coming weeks. The aircraft will then be transferred to Airbus facilities in Hamburg for cabin installation and painting.

ANA ordered three A380s in 2016, therefore becoming the first superjumbo client in Japan. The first delivery is scheduled for early 2019. The A380 will fly on the Tokyo-Honolulu route.

To date, Airbus has delivered 229 A380s, with the aircraft now serving 14 airlines worldwide.
