Airbus: 10 A321LR planes for Air Transat.
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that 10 A321LR aircraft will join the fleet of Canadian airline Air Transat, making it the first in North America to operate this single-aisle aircraft which has the longest range in the world.
Air Transat will lease these aircraft to AerCap and plans for them to be commissioned from 2019. They will fly on routes such as Montreal to Nice.
Based on the A321neo, the LR option extends the aircraft's range to 4,000 nautical miles and offers a 30% reduction in operational costs compared to its closest competitor.
