Philips: buys German medical imaging company TomTec.
(CercleFinance.com) - Philips has signed an agreement to acquire Germany's TomTec in order to strengthen its position in cardiac ultrasound.
The Dutch medical device and healthcare product maker said the acquisition will also strengthen the company's expansion in clinical areas such as obstetrics and gynecology.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Munich, TomTec products and services are used by over 20,000 physicians and 600 health facilities worldwide to increase efficiency and diagnostic quality through automated and reproducible measurements.
