Unilever: new shares to start trading in December

(CercleFinance.com) - Unilever's new shares are expected to make their market debut on Monday 24 December, as the Anglo-Dutch consumer goods group is currently finalising the simplification of its corporate structure.

The simplification of the company's parent company structure from two legal entities, NV and PLC, into a single holding company incorporated in the Netherlands, which will be listed in London, Amsterdam and New York, is expected to be completed over the weekend of 22 and 23 December, Unilever said.

The deal will be achieved through a combined process involving a UK scheme of arrangement for PLC (British company) and a Dutch statutory legal merger for NV (Dutch company).

The NV shareholder and depository receipt holder meetings will take place in Rotterdam on Thursday 25 October, while the PLC shareholder meetings will take place in London on Friday 26 October.

NV and PLC shares are last set to be traded on Friday 21 December.
