AkzoNobel: CFO steps down for health reasons.
(CercleFinance.com) - AkzoNobel's CFO Maëlys Castella is stepping down for health reasons, the Dutch paintmaker said on Wednesday.
She is expected to return to AkzoNobel in a senior management role after she recovers, the company said.
Current group controller Hans De Vriese will act as interim CFO, while the firm has begun a full internal and external search to find a permanent replacement.
AkzoNobel also announced a new management structure for its paints and coatings business ahead of the separation of its specialty chemicals unit in April 2018.
The new management structure is intended to enable the group to better face current challenges in the paints and coatings markets, which have a "wider and greater impact" as the year continues, AkzoNobel said.
Its shares, listed on Euronext Amsterdam, are currently down 2.2% at 76.9 euros after these announcements were made.
